Frank's Freedom

Meet Frank. He’s 13 years old, and is curious, busy, fun happy and bright. He has a mental delay, but that doesn’t stop him from being friendly, engaging and kind. He’s also an orphan in Eastern Europe. This means he is in an institution. If he is not adopted by age 16, he will be thrown out on the street with nothing but the clothes on his back and his “disabled orphan” status. Let me tell you more about Frank.

He’s little, about the size of a 7 year old. And he’s smart. He is in a group with teenage boys ages 16-24. He does puzzles and he does his chores diligently. He is very kind to the younger children. Frank is friendly and engaging. He likes being with the boys, but is happy being alone too. He plays appropriately with toys and is “all boy”. He could very easily function in a family. Frank is curious, smart, fun and sweet. He likes to play in the dirt and jump on the trampoline. Frank is independent, a good eater, is happy and content. Frank is physically healthy. He walks, runs, feeds himself, speaks, does puzzles and interacts with others well. He's a sweet boy who seems rather unaffected by his surroundings. He has no future where he's at, and without help, he's never getting out. Institutions are a one way ticket to nowhere. And this little boy deserves a future. This little boy will be a blessing to any family.

The Baker family has committed to adopt Frank and another boy, Emmitt. But international adoption is pretty expensive. The adoption would cost about $30,000. Reece’s Rainbow is an organization that helps with this cost. They set up grants for children in 25 countries around the world, and any money that is donated to these funds is given to the families to help with adoption fees. With Reece's Rainbow's help, the Baker family only needs about $10,000 to bring home both boys!

Got Ideas?

In the Summer of 2012, tink and i feel called to go to their orphanage and just show all of the kids the love of God! we'll do "chores" that the workers do, we'll talk to the children we'll love on the children, hopefully, we'll be able to teach the children some basic english! overall, we'll just be there for them and teach them that life doesn't have to be horible and to enjoy life, no matter how hard it my be in the four-walls of the orphanage. we have a good plan, but that's not free, it costs about $6,000 a person and that doesn't include passports. i've spent a lot of tie scouring the internet for unique fundraising ideas, but i haven't found any. I kno all the basics, like bake sales, carwashes, -athons... i'm looking for some really good ideas. we hopefully will partner with our church, but the church body isn't going to bring in ump-teen thousand dollars! if you have any really good, unique fundrasing ideas, please comment here and we'll get back to you as soon as possible! Thanks for your help! <3 always!

It's Called Kindergarden

In 8 days, Sergey turns five- years-old. If he was here in America, he would be entering Kindergarden this fall. He would getto be with "big kids", and be learning. Most kindergarden classrooms have a turtle. Sergey would get to play with the turtle, learn about it, learn how it's shell is like it's shield. He would get to interact with other kids his age, most likely with others that also have a "special power" or learning disability. He would be going to therapy 2-3 times a week, getting his muscles working so he could possibly learn how to walk. Sergey would have a loving family, maybe some siblings. He would be an awesome little brother, maybe an older brother.
BUT HE CANT
He can't go to kindergarden, can't learn about the turtle shells, can't learn how how to count, learn his alphabet. It is NOT because he has cerebral palsy. It is because he is an orphan in Ukraine. If he found a family in America or Canada, he would have the potential to learn all that, to do all that.
But no one has come for Sergey. He has been sitting in a bed in an orphanage in Eastern Europe; one of the 109 there. He has no opportunity for learning therapy, or even to thrive. But that's not even the worst place for him to be. But due to his age and disability, he will be taken there. A MENTAL INSTITUTION. Most children transfered to one DIE within the first year, just from lack of attention or anything. Does Sergey deserve that? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!!! NO child deserves that. I can not even begin to explain what would happen if he were transfered. Start the paperwork now, save him please! Let him go to kindergarden like any other 5 year old boy.
God bless.
if you can't adopt, please donate. And prayclike crazy. God has his plan for this little boy, pray for him.
and anthony as he will be transfered anyday.
May the Lord bless the rest of your evening.

What Now? By Steven Curtis Chapman

This is an amazing song by Steven Curtis Chapman. It's called "What Now?"
Here are the lyrics:
I saw the face of Jesus
In that little orphan girl
She was standing in the corner on the other side of the world
and i heard the voice of jesus
gently whisper to my heart
"Didn't you say you wanted to find me
Well here I am, here you are
What now?"
what will you do, now that you found me?
what now?
what will you do with this treasure you've found?
i kno i may not look like what you expected
but if you remember, this is right where i said i would be
you found me
what now?"
and i saw the face of jesus, down on sixtieth ave
he was sleeping in an old car while his mom went lookin for food
and i heard the voice of jesus gently whisper to my soul
"didnt you say you wanted to know me?
well here i am, and its getting cold
so what now?
what will you do, now that you found me?
what now?
what will you do with this treasure you've found?
i kno i may not look like what you expected,
but if you remember, this is right where i said i would be
well you found me
so come, and know
come and know me now
come and know me now
come and know
come and know me now
come and know,
know me now
what will you do
now that you found me?
what now?
what will you do with this treasure you've found?
oh, i may not look like what you expected
but if you remember, this is rite where i said i would be
you found me
what now?"
I love this song because it portrays "treat others as if they were Jesus because Jesus is in them. For Jesus said "What you do for the least of these you do for me." an orphan girl on the other side of the world, and a homeless boy are perfect examples. I love Steven Curtis Chapman's songs, they always have a deep and meaningful story or meaning. Please donate to the boys' adoption, and find them homes! The FUNdraiser is still on. There is a limit though. If you want to see us dye our hair, you know what to do!

So Glad to Finally announce...

It's Samuel's Gotcha Day! His parents have freed him from the orphanage. No longer will he spend nights there, he will be with his daddy, and tey should be heading to America on Friday, if Sam's passport comes through! Pray it does.

Adoption Cost- PAID

A lot of you know this already, but I just wanted to remind you. Anthony has $20012.19 in his fund towards his adoption! That means his adoption is already paid for, he just needs a family to go get him! He's almost 6, which means he's probably the oldest in the baby house he is in! He should be starting first grade this fall, but he can't. In his country, like most, orphans aren't allowed to get an education, ebb if theyre not special Ed, how messed up is that? First grade is supposed to be the year you feel most grown up because you go to school all day and not half a day. But no, Anthony will be spending his year, just like all the rest, alone, quiet, in a baby house for crying out loud! He needs a family! Friends. Someone to catch him when he falls, someone to love him, someone to introduce him to Jesus! This boy is beyond desperate! If God is calling you to adopt him, by golly, DO IT! if not, at least PRAY FOR HIM! God answers prayers! God wants Anthony to be found by a family! I'm not saying that you need to adopt, I'm pleading for support! My heart goes out for this kid, if I were old enough, I probably wouldnt be writing this, but I'm only a teen, definitely not old enough to adopt from across the world! $20012.19 is A LOT of money, but it's already in Anthony's fund! His adoption is paid for! Come on people, take heart! Plz help this boy, we're his voice! He deserves a second chance! Keep Anthony in your prayers! I hope he has a family committed to him by his 7th birthday! With God, ALL things are possible! Have a blessed evening!
In His Holy Name,
Spud <3

A Very Hairy FUNdraiser!

Me and Tink hav came up with a super fun, outrageously awesome, totally epic, radically legit, FUNdraiser! And we're immensely stoked about it! If we raise enough money to send Sergey home, if we find sergey a family, or if a family comes for little Anthony, we'll die our hair! Tink will die their dark, not dirty blonde hair and I will die my thick dark brown hair for 2 weeks!
Red for Anthony finding a family, and blue for Sergey getting a family or getting a full grant fund! We'll post pics! We just need to obtain parental permission first, but our parents are cool, I'm sure they'll down with it! Well, that's all for now! Goodnite blogging community!

Dear bloggers

Dear bloggers and friends,
After many prayers and consideration, we've decided that we would sponsor two different children, one child each! I, Spud, will sponsor Anthony, and Tink will sponsor sergey! It's just to hard to sponsor 6 kids at a time. We feel especially drawn to our boys, considering anthony can be sent to a mental institution any day :( We believe that each of us sponsoring one child will be more effective anyways! We will post any news we receive about these cutie pies! Have an amazing day and God bless!
It's all for Jesus!
Spud

An announcement...

After some consideration, I have decided to solely sponsor Sergey. Trying to sponsor six kids is very difficult. Spud will be sponsoring for Anthony. If either of us get any news about either of the boys, we will post.
I actually do have some announcements too! First of all, a "new" picture of Sergey! It is from June 2010, but I hadn't seen it before. The one of him in green is from February 2011. So here it is! Isn't he so adorable?!?

Does anyone else see the resemble between him and Sullivan? No? I do! They have the same nose, same blue eyes.
And another thing... Is it a coincedence? Or a sign?
i am working on a pair of children pajamas to get to sergey, either with an adopting family, or mailing them, or someway, thats not the point. I have a pefect piece of fabric, and i thought the design was perfect for sergey. The pattern is white with blue strips. At that point i hadnt seen the picture of sergey from june 2010. Then i saw that picture, and the design on sergeys clothes in that pictire, its the same! weird, right?
Well, wish us luck and be praying for Sergey please!
